Vinyl Decal Application Instructions
Vinyl graphics are similar to clothes: The manner in which the graphics are applied and cared for will determine their durability. The graphics should not be exposed to automatic car washes, power washers, solvents, petroleum-based products, or any other harsh conditions. The graphics should be hand-washed to preserve their beauty and durability.
Each TBF vinyl decal is covered with a sheet of tacky, light tan material that resembles masking tape on one side & and white wax paper backing on the other. The tan material is called “application tape” and is useful when positioning your graphics. You may use it (or completely remove it) at your own discretion.
1) Clean your destination surface thoroughly. Determine how your graphics will be positioned and mark the corners (or tape down one edge to create a ‘hinge’).
2) Lay the graphics face down, exposing the white wax paper backing. Carefully peel the wax paper away, and make sure all your graphics stick to the application tape. Make sure nothing touches the graphics!
3) Position the graphics and the attached application tape where you want them.
4) Using a squeegee or any other flat item (like a credit card), start from the middle and firmly press the air out from underneath the graphics. Make sure your strokes overlap so there are no bubbles or wrinkles.
5) Let the graphics set for a few minutes. There is no need to immediately remove the application tape.
6) Start on a top corner and carefully peel the application tape away from the graphics. Peel away at a sharp angle, in order to prevent the graphics from coming up and sticking to the application tape. If part of the graphic doesn't want to stick, try laying it back down, squeegeeing again, and waiting a little longer.
7) Allow the graphics to bond well before touching them, washing them, or exposing them to wind or rain. We recommend waiting 24 hours.
